Interview with Kamil: What advice do you have for budding entrepreneurs?

Kamil Aujeský is one of the most prominent people in Slovak marketing. He stands out not only with his tattoos, but also with a high-quality personal brand built on social networks, the Youtube project Marketing Backstage and the educational and networking event Digital Thursday.

In 10 years, Kamil developed from an ordinary PPC salesman to the founder and CEO of the samsiDigital agency and a partner in the web Studio TEM. He also has the clothing brand Fellows and collaborations with brands such as Google and Vacuum Labs.

Kamil recently published the book How to grow in a creative business and also participated in the development of our Creative. We interviewed Kamil on the occasion of the presentation of his new version in the form of an exercise book and we selected 7 tips from him for starting a business.

#1: Don't lose focus

Focus on one thing and go after it. Don't let the haters talk you out of it, overcome the first obstacles and don't lose motivation.

If you have as many projects as I do, set one goal in each one. Achieve it or learn from failure. And move on.

#2: Cut out non-essential activities

Saying NO is already hard enough. But saying NO to an activity you've said YES to before is even harder. Nevertheless, it can be done.

In the agency, for example, we have reduced marketing activities to two in which we are strongest - social networks and PPC. It took a lot of effort, but it was worth it.

#3: Less bullshit. More makai

Don't look at what could have been if... Don't dwell in the past and don't get lost in the future. You live here and now, so make the most of it.

Try to be the best version of yourself in the present moment.

#4: Take less of a point of view with your day job

Live a quality life that will fulfill you. Look for value in the projects you participate in. Don't get drawn into a stereotype and keep looking for new sources of inspiration. Which brings me to my next point:

#5: Get inspired by the people around you

Constantly educate yourself and be inspired by the people around you. For example, experienced businessmen from the area helped me with problems with managing the company and recruiting employees.

If you don't have such people around you, change your job.

#6: Clear your head

We all need a reset. When I need to clear my head, I exercise, go out for a beer with friends or meditate.

Find yours. And stick to it whenever you get a lot of it.

#7: Clean up your life

Old Kreatívec helped me clean up my life. I got things out of my head and onto paper. And I could focus on completing them.

New Creative is an exercise book that has several new sections to help you get your business off the ground, but the bottom line is the same — you need to leave yourself undisturbed time to think about the future of your project. It clears your head so you can focus on what's important. Your business.
