#29: Weekly overview: Everything important on one double page

First of all, we put our hand on our heart and have to tell you right away: there is no right or wrong use. Linear, drawn, scribbled or neat - your regular planning is primarily to serve you and help you become the master of your time. However, we have prepared some advice that will help you navigate the weekly planning and make the best use of this section. So feel free to read on.

Marking notes in the weekly report

For starters, create a task marking system. It can be any pictograms that you can (but don't have to) use. They especially help you quickly recognize notes in your weekly report - meetings, tasks, deadlines or ideas or notes. Above all, create a system that suits you. For example, I use characters like this:

  • triangle for meetings (it can be a class, a meeting or an event): after completion, I paint it
  • full stop for tasks: after completing, I draw a pipe through it (it saves time and a pen instead of filling in squares)
  • I frame personal notes, prayers, thoughts, excerpts from books, Bible verses or ideas with a highlighter or otherwise separate them from the to-do sheet (e.g. with washi tape)
  • I write the tasks in the first half and the deadlines in the second : this way I get an overview of what I have to do and at the same time I can clearly see below me when I should move where and to whom

But that's not all. A week in the Journal has several elements.

HOW THE DAY IS SCHEDULED IN THE JOURNAL

Each element represents one of the things we believe could be part of balanced time management. It encourages prioritization, smart planning and systematic time management . We didn't forget about gratitude, one of the strongest human abilities, which can strengthen and encourage you every week - even if the past few days weren't the best. So what does it look like in practice?

PRIORITY OF THE WEEK

Setting goals and tasks is one thing, prioritizing them correctly is something completely different, but equally important. Think about it this way: It doesn't matter how much you got done during the day, if what got done wasn't really important. Don't forget your goals and values here - are they also reflected in your daily planning? Therefore, start with the Priority of the week . Even if you didn't manage to do anything else, you just have to give this. Choose wisely - ideally, it shouldn't just be something that you have a deadline for, but something that will move you forward .

May the next week be successful. You need to give him a quality foundation. That foundation is nothing but planning. Don't forget to look at your Yearbook, your annual priorities and, based on them, decide what the most important tasks await you in the coming week. Don't let them out of your sight when planning your day.

DAILY PLANNING AND NOTES

Mark tasks, meetings, notes from meetings or tips for good movies on the prepared lines. You must have noticed that the lines are followed by a "freestyle" part with dots. Our recommendation is: use the upper part for planning the day and the lower part for notes or drawing. However, how you choose to fill out this section is really up to you - and yes, we need to emphasize this for a simple reason. Any diary or app is our helper. We don't serve them. They serve us. So use the Journal so that it helps you on your way to success .

YOU WILL GO FURTHER WITH GRATITUDE

At the end of the week, take a few minutes to think about the things you are thankful for that week. Even if today is Friday the 13th, try to remember at least three pleasant little things . Thanks to this, over time you will start to realize positive things and become a happier person.

So, are you going to start planning in your Journal? Or do you already have a system in place that works for you? Share it with us at to our Facebook group Journalists . Looking forward to see you.
